Happy LIVESTRONG Birthday, Zachary!
It happens that our own Zachary, who has been instrumental in helping with events, and a little Lance wannabe, has a birthday the day after LIVESTRONG Day, October 2. Since he was gearing up to go to Austin for the LIVESTRONG Challenge to kick cancer in memory of his best friend's father, who died a couple of years prior right after Zach's 9th birthday, he made his birthday party a LIVESTRONG Day Celebration & Fundraiser.
Guests were asked, in lieu of presents, to make a donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation in Zachary's honor and in memory of Mark Levy. Every child in attendance was given a LIVESTRONG wristband in their goodie bag.
Activities included making bracelets out of old bicycle innertubes, bike chain bracelets, Unicorn Inner Tube Toss, watching Lance kick it on the Leadville Trail in "Race Across the Sky" and a Contador pinata beating.
