4/10: 2nd Annual ROCK the RIDE & RUN
Almost 75 participants chose to walk or run 5k or ride 30 miles to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation and show support for the 28 million living with cancer today... and, I'm proud to say that WE RAISED OVER $2,000 FOR THE LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION!
Friends and family joined in the fun, and listened to bands like ZETA, Goth Barbie & Night Riders, watching routines by the Strawberry Hill Players upcoming performance of GREASE!
Supporting organizations were also present, including The Zoe Fund, Mary Kay, Achieve Fluency, Ride for the Flame, and more! The Pound Ridge Business Association district was buzzing thanks to Albano Appliances, Juleigh's Couture, Lucia's Salon & Spa, Panella's Gourmet Deli, Pinocchio Pizza.
Our cyclists had AMAZING support, thanks to REI of Norwalk, which provided a mechanic's tent at the start, manned the turnaround point, and provided a GREAT tent for a raffle prize plus water bottles for everyone and Danny's Cycles, who provided a mobile support unit which reported the fewest number of incidents* ever on a ride that they supported!
(*Not to worry, while there were incidents, the worst of which included our organizer, Rica Mendes, who had a mechanical on her way back to welcome all the riders & runners upon their return.)
